POSITION TITLE:    Lifeguard

F.L.S.A.                    Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have completed Red cross lifeguard/CPR courses

1. Have enough mobility to enter the pool from a stand and rescue a person that weighs up to 400 pounds 

    

REPORTS TO:    Aquatic Center Coordinator 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      10 Months (Schol Year) plus Summer ESY additional weeks

ESSSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure that all safety rules and protocol are followed by swimmers.

2. Effectively scan the pool to monitor swimmer safety.

3. Develop positive relationships with both students and parents.

4. Provide a safe swimming environment for all the individuals that use the aquatic center.

5. Monitor and maintain proper chemical levels in the pool.

6. Clean the facility on a daily basis as trained and directed.

    

OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work collaboratively with other staff members and management

2. Follow directions from the aquatic directors

3. Abide by Red Cross life guarding principles and ideals

4. Provide emergency first aid/CPR if needed.
