Position Purpose:              The position holds key responsibilities concentrating on special event management and development operations.  These responsibilities are vital components in OSB's ongoing pursuit of generating revenue in support of OSB's Mission, students and programs.

 

Essential Functions — Special Events:

  • Ensures all fundraising events are within budget, meet financial objectives and appropriately represent OSB to the donor community.
  • Manages event logistics for OSB's signature event, the Overbrook Experience, including communication, vendor, staff and volunteer matters.
  • Plans fundraising events in coordination with OSB management and volunteers (Development Committee, Board of Trustees, Alumni, Parents).
  • Serves on Overbrook Experience planning committee and work in collaboration with Committee to secure sponsorship revenue, in-kind donors, and prospects/donors for a silent auction of 20+ items.
  • Recruits, trains and supervises event volunteers.
  • Serves as point-person for OSB affinity groups including, but not limited to, Young Friends of OSB.
  • Collaborates with Director of Development, Development Committee Chair and, as needed, OSB/Board Leadership, to cultivate, solicit and steward prospects, donors and volunteers.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

 

Essential Functions — Development Operations:

  • Works in collaboration with the Development Records and Research Associate to ensure the data integrity and accuracy of information entered into Raiser'sEdge and that all protocols established for gift management/acknowledgement have been followed.
  • Creates, manage and execute queries and reports in support of fundraising efforts;
  • Creates, maintains and runs in-depth donor profiles through the utilization of Target Analytics and other online resources.
  • Collaborates with Development Associate to manage Raiser's Edge Action Tracking System with the end goal in mind of writing and generating reports that support the fundraising objectives of OSB's ED/CEO, Board leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Management or related fields or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • 3 - 5 Years of demonstrated experience in event planning and/or fundraising. Knowledge of fundraising software (Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, etc), a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers; Maintain positive client/vendor relations at all times.
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented and ability to multi-task various projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent Communication skills (oral and written) and confidence in conveying information to all types of members of the community, including teachers, administrators, other staff members and students.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Requires prolonged sitting and/or standing for long periods at a time.
  • Repetitive motion of the finger and hands.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
